Job Description:
Essential Coil Well Service, a division of Element Technical Services, is currently seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join our sales team in Calgary. 


Summary:

As a member of the ECWS sales team, this critical position establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to both generate new and retain existing business for ECWS’s service lines including coil tubing, fluid pumping and nitrogen. The Technical Sales Representative uses competitive and business intelligence to provide support for business initiatives and strategy while delivering value to our customers.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of effective customer communication for the Coil Well Service division;
  • Analyze customer operations and maintain knowledge of competitor activity;
  • Negotiate with customers on key issues and address customer inquiries and concerns;
  • Partner with sales representatives from other divisions to ensure promotion of Essentials complete range of services;
  • Participate in Essential and industry events, where required to identify sales opportunities;
  • Responsible for timely and accurate field ticket approval using SPIRA;
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and expansion of business opportunities;
  • Promote, sell, negotiate and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach;
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers;
  • Expedite and actively participate in the effective resolution of customer problems and escalations;
  • Responsible for the outstanding accounts receivable communication with our customers and with the support of the Manager, Sales, drives the collections process;
  • Research and analyze the market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization;
  • Report to the Manager, Sales on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, potential for new products and services and status of personal budgeted sales revenue, gross profit and expense goals;
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with technical service areas;
  • Effectively use tools to manage and build customer relationships – entertainment, business calls, conferences, etc.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of operational/field experience and five (5) years sales experience within the energy services industry;
  • A direct background in representing coil well service companies is an asset;
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset;
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered;
  • A proven E&P business contact network;
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to maintain and build strong relationships with a variety of external and internal levels, ranging from senior managers to subject matter experts in product(s) applications;
  • The ability to actively listen, show empathy and apply extensive industry and product knowledge in a cooperative and meaningful manner is critical;
  • Expert technical knowledge of the Oilfield Service Industry;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and self-discipline required to work independently and manage time effectively;
  • Self-driven, self-confident, results oriented and highly motivated to succeed;
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications and contact management software;
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills;
  • The ability to build rapport and gain trust;
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, initiative, problem-solving skills;
  • Must have a positive nature, can-do attitude and be a team player;
  • Adaptable to changes, able to cope in high-stress situations and able to work flexible hours.
